Last month, we challenged artists, makers, and organizations to propose projects for the Wearables competition of the MAKESHOP Maker Micro Grant program. These micro grants will help programs and organizations to provide youth with meaningful making opportunities.
We received many creative and innovative projects from a variety of individuals and organizations. We were incredibly impressed with the projects and thankful for the dedication and enthusiasm we saw from the applicants. There were 5 grants available, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. The winners of these grants were chosen through an online public voting system. We received over 600 votes! It was an incredibly close competition, but we are pleased to announce the winners!
