Micro Grants of up to $5,000 are available to support programs that engage Youth Makers, children aged 7 to 17, in the hands-on design and production of objects that respond to two themes: Wearables and Rideables. The Wearables competition ended last week, but there is still a chance to apply for the Rideables competition!
The Rideables grant submissions will be accepted from April 9-20, 2012! Youth Makers will be encouraged to think broadly about the themes and create items as diverse as a robotic lawn mower or cupcakes on wheels. For more information, contact Adam Nye at anye@pittsburghkids.org.
All projects will culminate with a celebration of Youth Makers at the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire on September 22, 2012.
