I have noticed over the past year that MAKESHOP has become such a great resource for home school families. Every visitor can benefit from something in the Museum, but MAKESHOP allows for an extremely hands on experience.
A couple of days ago a group of sisters ranging from age eight to twenty spent a couple of stupendous hours in MAKESHOP. We worked on some simple wooden picture frames. All three of these projects slowly evolved into something much more complicated. They added fabric around the wooden frames using glue and a staple gun to give the projects a more unique look. I even helped one of them add working lights to her frame.
Within these couple of hours we worked on single projects that incorporated several mediums. This group of girls are regular visitors to the Museum. They are always a joy to work with.
