A couple of days ago, we hosted a “Making MAKESHOP” workshop.  Participants of the workshop visited from Museums and other institutions from around the country.  All of them were interested in developing a maker space of their own.  We decided to share some of our secrets with them.

Over the course of two days, we played, talked, asked and answered questions, toured Pittsburgh, and generally had fun.  It was a pleasure to meet and interact with all of the participants. It seems as though adults in the museum field just act like really big kids.  This makes it a lot easier to interact and communicate with them. They were all very enthusiastic.

I feel like this workshop really allowed our team to reflect on what we have accomplished over the past year.  It also got us thinking and collaborating on what can be done for future maker spaces.

Thanks again to all the participants,
