Explaining Things Through Animation

I have been having a good time playing around with animation in MAKESHOP.  Our stop-motion program allows you to create a simple movie by taking pictures of object while moving them around.

A couple of days ago we had some of our conductive play-doh out for visitors to explore.  The conductive play-doh acts as a conductor that can be used to complete a circuit between a battery and a light to make the light turn on.  I decided it would be fun to make a “how to” video about the play-doh using the stop-motion program.  The video is posted above.

This really got me thinking about the different ways we can present information to visitors.  Typically we use signs or just let the staff explain what you can do in the exhibits and what special activities might be happening that day.  Maybe there are some other simple processes, like completing a circuit, that could be demonstrated with a stop-motion animation video.
