If you follow this blog closely, you may already know that I love our loom. I try to keep it interesting for frequent visitors by changing things up with each new project. We recently received a donation that included a trashbag full of dictaphones (which are sort of like telephones you read messages into so that you can remember to write them down later when you have more time), and discovered that their cords had lots and lots of thin, colorful wires inside.
So, of course, we had to try to weave with them!
The wire weaving is now my favorite. The colors and texture are amazing!
Here’s a sneak-peek of our next project, made out of some old, donated tablecloths. The tablecloths were black-and-white patterned on the top, with bright pink edges. This is, surprisingly, our first fabric weaving. It’s also a bit wider than usual, at 150 strings across.
We’ve ordered some special weaving supplies, and I am very excited for their arrival and all of the new possibilities they’ll bring…!
