Another Youth MAKE Night…

We held another Youth MakeNight for some of our teenage visitors a couple of weeks ago.  These events are so much fun.  As staff, we get to interact with an older demographic of children, and the group of teenagers get to visit the Museum without their parents. Youth invade MAKESHOP

On February 22nd, we held our second Youth Maker Night.  This was an after-hours event with a lot of tweens and teens, and no parents.  We offered some new activities for the youth to try, including felting, recycled derby cars, e-textiles, tinkering with motors, and a demonstration of a 3D printer.  It took the kids awhile to ease into the activities. Renaissance Faire Field Trip

The day after Pittsburgh’s Mini Maker Faire I decided to take a trip to Pittsburgh’s Renaissance Faire…What a weekend!
