A Month of Tape

The month of September was full of tape. Our newest exhibit, TapeScape was under construction. The structure is made out of a lot of packing tape. You’d be surprised how sturdy the material actually is. It was able to support several grown exhibit technicians at one time. The exhibit is part climbing structure, part art piece. It is a sight to see. MAKESHOP got into the spirit of tape during this month as well.

Leah Buechley came to visit!

Leah Buechley, from the MIT Media Lab, paid the Museum a visit a couple of weeks ago.  She is an amazing maker, an amazing teacher, and an amazing person.  She gave a talk at the Museum about integrating technology into other mediums.  I could tell just from her posture how enthusiastic she is about her work and the work of her students.  Her presentation was great…But the real fun came the next day.
